Covey Ridge Farm & Vineyard Great wine starts on the vine.

Covey Ridge is a family-owned and operated farm located on the northwestern edge of Oregon’s Willamette Valley in Banks. Our vineyard sits on a sunlit, south-facing hillside between 500 and 600 feet in elevation, overlooking the Tualatin Valley within the newly established Tualatin Hills AVA. Of our 35-acre property, more than 17 acres are devoted to wine grapes  first planted in 1995 and now meticulously dry-farmed with care and intention. Our vineyard is proudly Salmon-Safe and LIVE Certified sustainable, accredited by the International Organization for Biological Control, and recognized as a Bee Friendly Farm. In 2022, we completed our first fully organic growing season, marking a new chapter in our ongoing commitment to responsible stewardship of the land. Our vineyard is planted predominantly to Pinot Noir (Dijon clones 114, 115, and 777) and Pinot Gris (Dijon clone 152), with a small experimental block dedicated to Riesling and Chardonnay. Most of our vines are grafted onto phylloxera-resistant rootstocks, primarily Couderc 3309 (3309C), with one Pinot Noir block on Millardet et de Grasset 101-14 (101-14 Mgt). Our rows are planted intentionally wide — 9 feet and 11 feet in selected blocks — a layout we affectionately call our “John Deere spacing,” allowing our tractor to move comfortably between the vines. The vineyard rests on iron-rich Laurelwood soils layered with windblown volcanic loess mixed with basalt, remnants of the Missoula Floods that shaped this landscape over 12,000 years ago. We train our vines on elevated trellises that encourage airflow and sun exposure, cultivating healthy, balanced fruit. In select blocks, we use a horizontally divided Lyre trellis system, which creates two fruiting zones, increases light interception, and supports generous yields without compromising quality.

Our unwavering commitment is to craft complex, high-quality wines through environmentally and socially responsible farming, thoughtful innovation in the cellar, and integrity in every aspect of our business. Over the past two decades, we have become a respected purveyor of sustainably grown grapes, meticulously cultivated with care and intention. Several well-known winemakers have crafted extraordinary wines from our harvests, most notably Peter Rosback of Sineann Winery, whose Covey Ridge bottlings sold out quickly and received widespread industry praise. Our fruit has also been featured by Ferraro Cellars, Owen Roe, R. Stuart & Co., McKinlay Vineyards, Dobbes Family Estate, Walnut City WineWorks, Lundeen Wines, and many others. We are honored to currently grow for Pike Road Wines, the sister winery of Elk Cove Vineyards, and in 2022, we proudly farmed fruit for Day Wines, a 2020 James Beard “Award of Excellence” Semi-Finalist. Though 98% of our harvest is shared with other winemakers, each year we set aside a small block for our own grower’s label. Every Woven wine is a handcrafted expression of place and memory, a story captured in each bottle. Our labels are adorned with heritage photographs that pay tribute to our family’s history and the loved ones whose legacies guide our hands. Woven was born from a desire to gather people together, nurture community, inspire storytelling, and create moments of joy. As threads of the past intertwine with the present, the future reveals itself in each shared glass.

With the exception of special events, our facility remains a private working farm and is not open to the public.
