FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Local Oregon winegrower and visiting guest chef pop-up this holiday season to host a series of epicurean experiences.

PORTLAND, Ore. — December 4, 2019 — Woven Wineworks is pleased to announce the launch of a new holiday pop-up tasting series in the heart of Portland’s Pearl District.

The private tastings will take place at the Gathering Table in Woven's urban tasting room. Each seating will offer a flight of locally crafted wines paired with canapés, cheeses, charcuterie, and artisan chocolate in a menu curated by visiting guest Chef Shane Lyons. Participants will enjoy the opportunity to engage in an intimate conversation with Chef Lyons and local winegrower Elaina Spring as they weave together stories, personal insights, and a deeply rooted passion for their craft.

“I’m thrilled to offer consumers access to wholesome, handcrafted wines right here in the heart of the City. It is a pleasure to work with Chef Lyons this holiday season to create an authentic epicurean experience to share with Portlanders as well as out-of-town visitors. Our hope is to provide a meaningful, multi-sensory wine country experience that can be enjoyed without leaving the urban center.”
-Elaina Spring, Winegrower

Elaina Spring is the winegrower for Covey Ridge Vineyards, as well as the co-founder and co-owner of Woven Wineworks. Her family's 35-acre biodiverse farm is located on the northwestern edge of the Willamette Valley in Banks. Elaina maintains an unwavering commitment to producing high-quality wines through sustainable grape farming and innovative winemaking. Her wines are designated LIVE certified sustainable and she recently became the first Craft Certified producer in the state of Oregon. In 2017, Elaina was invited to pour at the prestigious James Beard House in New York City alongside an esteemed group of internationally recognized chefs including Chef Lyons.

Chef Shane Lyons is looking forward to his time here in Oregon this holiday season.

“After spending nearly a decade working in New York City behind the stove, and the past few months in Los Angeles, it is refreshing to be here in Portland. This city has an incredibly diverse and vibrant food scene. The culinary talent here is extraordinary and uniquely authentic. I am looking forward to incorporating locally sourced ingredients to highlight the flavors and aromas in Elaina’s wine.”
-Chef Shane Lyons

Chef Lyons was honored in Zagat's 30 Under 30 as one of NYC’s most promising up and coming chefs as Co-owner and Chef of Distilled New York in TriBeCa, NYC. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America at the age of 18, making him one of the youngest graduates in CIA history. He is nationally recognized for having worked as a private chef for A-List Hollywood actors, competing on Food Network’s Next Food Network Star, and as a featured chef of the James Beard House.

Woven’s pop-up series is happening mid-December with reservations available Thursday, December 12 through Sunday, December 15th.

Tastings will take place at Woven’s hidden gathering spot tucked away in the cellar suite at 959 NW Couch Street in the Pearl.
